"Art has always been the most amazing form of therapy for me. I’ll forget how           I’m feeling and am able to create something beautiful. It’s the one thing that my disease has never been            able to take from me...I am SO thankful to be an artist.  I’m able to reach out to people in a way that               not everyone can do. Because of that, being an artist has made me so much stronger than I ever                   thought I could be."

Kristin Williams was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in May of 2007, throwing hospital stays and tests into the middle of my senior year of high school. After a brief remission during college, my symptoms came back on me full force in January of 2011, just four

months prior to graduation. After a losing battle with the UC flare for almost 3 years with every medicine, diet and lifestyle change possible, I had my colon removed at the Cleveland Clinic. I had my last of the 3 IPAA surgeries in August of 2014, and am now living with a j-pouch. I’m a freelance designer, illustrator, fine artist, tennis player & pilates instructor living on the Gulf Coast of Alabama with a love for my nephew and cotton candy ice cream (I like my husband a little, too).
